Friday 21 December

The grand event of a new website and the close of an event packed year should bring forth many words of insight to ponder. The truth of the matter is I feel completely knackered and am struggling for inspiration. That said I can honestly say the pride I feel in representing Manly hasn't worn off and I look forward to next year with even more determination to bring Manly back to the Macquarie Street spotlight.

We have had some big wins in these few short months such as the $70 mio commitment to fix the sewer pipes around our lagoons, a new canteen at Curl Curl North Public School and direct engagement in the review of Sydney Ferries. However, the battle has only just begun ... our new hospital is not even on plans yet, the Spit gets worse, schools remain under invested and, like the Fonz saying sorry, Morris still can't even say Manly let alone upgrade Brooky or Manly ovals.

I plan to send this blog out each week in 2008 and remain keen to hear your views, positive or negative, as long as they are constructive. In the interim I hope you and your family have a great Christmas and I look forward to working with you to make Manly the best beachside community in the world.
