“I was excited to meet the flourishing Miranda Chamber of Commerce, which is arguably the largest in the Shire, and was surprised to hear they had not yet been granted a meeting with their local MP,” Mr Baird said. “The Chamber put a compelling case forward on the issues facing the area,” Mr Baird said. “They nominated the F6 Motorway and graffiti in community centres as two priorities in which they are seeking assistance from the State Government and we are taking on these concerns.” Mr Baird said he has met with several Chambers of Commerce recently to discuss issues facing businesses across the State. “The Miranda Chamber of Commerce is an active group with an exciting vision of growth and frankly it was a surprise they had not met with their local MP.” A review of questions asked by local Members revealed the Member for Miranda has asked the least amount of questions in the current session of Parliament. Mr Barry Collier has asked two questions, while Ms Judy Hopwood, Member for Hornsby has asked 254. “All MPs are busy but the local Chamber of Commerce has an insight into the pressures facing business on the ground, which is worth hearing.” MEDIA: Lisa Harrington - 0406 726 880
