| Parliament Transforms for the Sea Eagles! |

Member for Manly Mike Baird has requested Parliament’s dress code be relaxed on Thursday so NSW politicians can show their support for the Manly Sea Eagles in the lead-up to the rugby league grand final this Sunday. “On behalf of all Manly supporters I presented a Sea Eagles jersey to the Speaker of the House today, and asked him to allow the festive spirit into the Chamber in support of the mighty Sea Eagles,” Mr Baird said. Parliamentary dress standards state that Members of Parliament must be dressed in appropriate business attire while in the Chamber. “We’re proud of our local team and want them to feel the whole of Sydney is behind them as they prepare for the grand final. “I’m hoping that Parliament transforms into a grandstand for the Eagles on Thursday with pollies from all sides trading their corporate look for maroon and white.” Mr Baird is also calling on the Premier to hold a ticker tape parade for the Sea Eagles next week to celebrate their achievement. “The ticker tape parade could start at Town Hall and move down to Circular Quay. The team could then catch the ferry across to Manly. “It would be incredible if Manly supporters had the chance to welcome their team as they finished the parade at the Corso,” he said. Mr Baird said his team decorated his Sydney road office in Sea Eagles colours and hopes all local businesses will unite together and transform their shopfronts.
