Shadow Treasurer Mike Baird slammed Eric Roozendaal as out of touch after he rejoiced at NSW losing $100 million in the final Commonwealth Grants Commission determination today. “Eric Roozendaal is so incompetent only he would think delivering billion dollar deficits and losing $100 million in GST arrangements would be seen as a win,” Mr Baird said. “Kristina Keneally and Eric Roozendaal have again lost the state of origin battle with Queenslanders Kevin Rudd and Wayne Swan,” he said. “This is just the latest example of the NSW Labor Government’s incompetence in dealing with the Federal Government. “After being snubbed by the Rudd Government for Infrastructure Australia funding, State Labor has now seen NSW lose $100 million in GST funding. “Eric Roozendaal has run the NSW economy into the ground, so it’s now a bit rich of him to rejoice in losing a further $100 million of taxpayers’ hard earned funds. “Unfortunately, it means the State Labor Government will have to hit long-suffering NSW taxpayers ever harder. “This blow comes in the same week Kristina Keneally and Eric Roozendaal slugged drivers with Labor’s new $500 million monstrous motoring tax. “The State Labor Government has argued a Federal Labor Government would deliver a better deal for NSW – that has proven to be nothing but spin. “The NSW Liberals & Nationals have long argued NSW gets ripped off by the GST arrangement and we’ve made clear we’ll fight for a better deal,” Mr Baird said.
