Maree Sewell & Adrina Selles  

On Sunday, 30 May 2010, Brookvale-Curl Curl Scout Group held a special presentation to celebrate some very special achievements. We recognised Maree's 20 years of service as Group Leader with Mr Mike Baird (State MP for Manly - who himself was thanked for his efforts securing our recent grant) presenting Maree with a special certificate for 20 years of service. Two scouts read a short citation and Mr Baird spoke about the importance of scouting and volunteers. Maree then presented Adrina with her 15 years of service award and spoke very fondly of their time together. Family members, as well as members past and present, helped celebrate the occasion with a few drinks and nibbles.

Maree has been the Group Leader at 1st Brookvale Scout Group and then at the combined Brookvale-Curl Curl Scout Group for 20 years.  Maree was the driving force behind the construction of our Group's new hall in Brookvale, which was officially opened in 2009.  Her achievements in fundraising and organising the youth members and their families are a lasting legacy we will all share for many years to come. Without her efforts over such a long period this Group would not exist as it does today.  

Adrina has been a Scout Leader at North Curl Curl and then at the combined Brookvale-Curl Curl Scout Group for 15 years. In that time Adrina has attended five jamborees as a Troop Leader. Our Scout Troop continues to grow mainly because Adrina provides a varied and interesting program with a lot of camping and hiking and water activities for everyone to enjoy.
