The Manly-Manado Walk is supporting 50 mothers and babies at a Compassion Child Survival Project in Manado, Indonesia. Everyday 22,000 children under the age of five die from mostly preventable causes. The Child Survival Program is designed to help pregnant women, at-risk babies, and their mothers and caregivers to overcome these preventable diseases, empowering them to survive and thrive into the future.
By walking for one of these mothers and babies your fundraising suport will have a vital and lasting impact on the lives of mothers and little children in Manado and will also support Millenium Development Goals 4 (reduce child mortality) and 5 (improve maternal health).
Manly Friends of Oecusse (MFOO) present the Wheeze and Suck Band
Help support the work of MFOO who have partnered with local community groups in Oecusse, Timor Leste, to work on improving agricultural practices, water quality and health through education and skills development in the villages.
Come along for a great night of music with the Wheeze and Suck Band performing in Fairlight and feel good as the money raised is going to a great cause!
7-10pm on Saturday 9 July at William St Studios, 3 William Street, Fairlight.

Manly Marlin's annual Tatts before Rats lunch - He may have attended Sydney University but there is no doubting where NSW Treasurer Mike Baird’s rugby allegiances lie these days.
The Manly MP lives within a drop goal or two of Manly Oval and is now a Marlins man through and through.
He will take time out from fixing the state’s finances to line up as one of the guest speakers at Manly’s annual Tatts before Rats lunch on July 1.

Manly Scenic Fun Run! - This annual race is held on the third Sunday in May. The event is organised by the Rotary Club of Manly Sunrise to raise money for local charities. There is a 10km run, 5km run and 5km & 8km walks, along with a 2km run/walk. The scenic route starts at 8am from North Steyne surf club. March & April 2011 -Rotary Bowelscan is now underway! This massive annual public health campaign is about encouraging people to undergo a simple test for bowel cancer. Look out for Rotary Bowelscan kits in participating pharmacies before 2 April. Kits must be returned by 16 April.
One in 12 Australians will develop bowel cancer by the age of 85. The risk begins at age 40, doubling every 5 years until age 60 and even more rapidly as the person gets older.
