Grease on the Beach -

The Sydney Vocal Arts Centre presents Grease on the Beach  at Clontarf.   Former Hi-5 members, Charli Delaney and Nathan Foley take the lead roles, along with Underbelly's Simon Westaway and High School Musical's Andrew Hazzard.  Also taking the stage is Mike Baird, playing the role of Johnnie Casino in the performances on May 9 and 10.  For more information go to www.greaseonthebeach.com.  Money raised goes to the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre.

Have Your Say on the Economic Future of the Northern Beaches  5-7 pm, Harbord Diggers, Evans Road, Freshwater

There are many economic challenges facing our community and our state.  How we respond to these challenges and what policies are adopted will be very important in shaping the future of our local businesses, employment opportunities and the economic prosperity of the Northern Beaches.   As the Local Member for Manly and Shadow Treasurer, Mike Baird, along with Shadow Minister for Finance, Greg Pearce are hosting an economic forum to hear the community's views and ideas on what can be done - so come and have your say.

Fundraising Trivia Night for Victorian Bushfires - 7 pm
Manly Life Saving Club members, Lynne and Howard Schauer lost loved ones in the Victorian bushfires. Lyn’s brother Garry, his wife Jacinta and 6 year old daughter Erryn died, while their 12 year old daughter Maddison has suffered 50% burns to her body and will be in hospital for at least 3 months. To assist Maddison with her ongoing treatment and recuperation a Trivia Night is being held at Manly Life Saving Club. To be involved and to buy tickets please contact: Noel Carroll 0413 700 299

Land Tax Forum - 7 pm. A forum is being conducted to discuss the recent increase in land tax and the impact it is having on local businesses. It is being held at Warringah Council, Pittwater Road, Dee Why.  For further information contact: Di Underwood 0418 622 120

Manly Farmers Market - Every Saturday from February 14, Manly locals will have beachside access to some of the freshest gourmet produce available including organic fruit and vegetables, quality cheeses, olive oils and fresh flowers  direct from local farmers and fresh food makers.  Adjoining the regular Market, the Manly Farmers Market is located in the heart of Manly's CBD at Short Street Plaza.

White Ribbon Day breakfast at Garfish (7:30am-9am) - Shelley Oates-Wilding and Mike will be speaking at a breakfast organised by the Northern Beaches Local Domestic Violence Committee. Tickets can be purchased for $35 through the Manly Warringah Women's Resource Centre on 9971 4499.

White Ribbon Day - a Cycle to Break the Cycle will be held in Martin Place to raise awareness and funds to stop violence against women. Youth Homelessness and Mental Health Summit - Mike is bringing together experts to help tackle two of the greatest problems facing youth across the State. Launch of 'A Queer View' - a photographic exhibition telling the stories of gay and lesbian young people from the Northern Beaches will be launched at Manly Library at 6pm. The exhibition will be launched at Brookvale TAFE Library at midday. The exhibition is proudly presented by GL@M (Gays and Lesbians at Manly), which is a fortnightly social support group run by Manly Council.
