Free Aerosol Art Workshop - a workshop for 12-21 year-olds will be held at Manly Youth Centre from 12pm-5pm for those who want to learn more about aerosol art. Boards and paint will be provided but bookings are essential. Call Kate Munro on 9977 5599. |

Kids School Holiday Dance, Singing and Art Camp - Manly Dance is coordinating two four-day camps this school holidays for kids who want to learn to sing, dance and get creative! At the end of the camp is a Camp Showcase so kids can display their art and perform their skills/routines. The camp for children aged 7-10 will be held between Mon 29 Sept and Thur 2 Oct (8:30am-5:30pm), with the Showcase on Fri 3 Oct at 3pm. Those aged 11-15 attend between Mon 6 Oct and Thur 9 Oct (8:30am-5:30pm), with the Showcase on Fri 10 Oct at 5:30pm. Call 9976 3515 to book your child's place! |

24/7 Youth Film Festival Short Films - Come along to a screening of the entered films on Sunday 31 August (7-9pm) at Collaroy Cinema or Monday 1 September (7-9pm) at Warriewood Cinema. The finals and award ceremony will be on Sunday 7 September (6-9pm) at Cremorne Orpheum. Support youth film production! $2 entry. The festival is proudly supported by Manly Council, Mosman Council, Warringah Council and Pittwater Council. |

Discobility at Manly Youth Centre - Put on your loudest, most colourful outfit and come to a dance party for 12-18 year olds with special needs. Run by Manly Council, the dance party will be held at Manly Youth Centre on Kangaroo Street from 7pm until 10pm. Friends and siblings are welcome. Environment Minister meets police college protestors - Verity Firth stops to talk to Mike and community members opposed to the federal police's $21m plans to redevelop its police college at North Head. The Minister agrees to a meeting to see what she can do to help protect the endangered penguins and precious North Head environment. |

Health Minister visits Bear Cottage - Reba Meagher accepted an invitation from Mike to see the magic of Bear Cottage. She had a full tour of the facility and met the families, the staff and the volunteers. Bear Cottage currently receives no government funding, however the Minister said she is committed to ensuring the centre has the support it needs. |

Penguins Not Police Forum - Around 100 locals gathered at the Manly Surf Pavilion to pass a unanimous motion that the $21 million redevelopment of the police college at North Head should not go ahead. This development would destroy a critical habitat area for the endangered Little Penguins and foraging area for the Long-Nosed Bandicoot. |

Growing By the Sea exhibition - come and celebrate Manly Village Public School's sesquicentenary! A history of the school from 1858 will be on display in the school hall from 10am - 4pm on Saturday and 12noon - 4pm on Sunday. |
