Manly Community Fundraising Dinner! - Come along to this inaugural event to unite the community and raise funds for two very important local causes: the Manly Community Centre's domestic violence program, and our local surf life saving clubs. Seaforth TAFE meeting - Mike met with the Minister for Planning Frank Sartor, the Mayor of Manly Dr Peter Macdonald, the General Manager of Manly Council Henry Wong, Landcom and the Dept of Education and Training to discuss the community plebiscite on the future of the site. |

Ferry Forum - Mike asked Transport Minister John Watkins to attend a forum to hear the views of local commuters on the future of the Manly ferry and jetcat service. More than 100 people attended to have their say before the Government makes major changes to the service as a result of the recent ferry inquiry. |
New hospital meeting - Peninsula MPs, Mike Baird, Rob Stokes and Brad Hazzard met with Health Minister Reba Meagher to discuss progress on the new Northern Beaches hospital. The following day the Health Minister announced the State Government would go ahead with the acquisition of the Frenchs Forest properties needed to build the hospital. |

Brisbane public transport visit - Mike and Shadow Minister for Transport Gladys Berejiklian review Brisbane's ferry and bus system to see first hand what Sydney can learn from Brisbane's experience. Since Brisbane's ferry service was restructured four years ago, patronage has risen from 3.6 million to 6.1 million passenger trips per year. |
